Behind Piaţa Universităţii is what is
known colloquially as the Russian church.
Officially it’s the Students’ church, but for two reasons
it is known more commonly as the Russian church
The first reason is obvious. It looks
very much like a Russian church.
The second reason is that it was completed in 1909
with money donated by the Russian Czar Alexander II.
It's also a said to be an exact replica - a
smaller replica - of the Arkhangelsky cathedral.
