Caru’ cu Bere is one of the most historic restaurants in Bucharest and any visitor should come here.

It was famous for decades, or infamous, should I say for its terribly bad service.

But that has improved in recent years and you can now come here and enjoy the place as it is.

Inside are some fantastic ceilings. There’s a great folklore show most evenings.

And the food is really quite good. It’s standard Romanian food but it’s well worth trying

If you do come here in the summer or at any busy time, especially at the weekend you really need to reserve,

otherwise you’re going to be waiting an hour for a table. It’s one of the most popular places and I can’t recommend it higher.
