it's quick and informal.
There are a number of different
chat services you can choose
from, and they pretty much
work in the same way.
I'll show you how Google Chat
works to get you started.
Log into your Gmail account
and look for the chat
area on the left.
You'll see your name at the
top next to a green icon.
That means that you're online.
When you see the green icon
next to other people's
names, it means that
they're online, too.
Click on a friend's
name to start a chat.
If you want to chat with
someone new, type in their
email address to invite
them to chat with you.
The next time they're online,
they'll confirm you as a
contact, so you two can
chat in the future.
Now you have another way to
get in touch with people
you want to chat with.
