Poland’s Minimum Pension Seen Too Low by Experts

June 13, 2011 Polish Tripartite Commission will discuss possible modification of calculating of minimum pension, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza writes pointing out in an alarmist tone that over 400, 000 pensioners receive minimum pension amounting to mere net 635 zlotys. The ratio of the minimum pension to the average wage currently stands at 22%, a report by former deputy labor minister Agnieszka Chlon-Dominczak and Pawel Strzelecki from the Statistics and Demography Institute ISiD shows. If no changes are implemented, then in 30 years 41% of women and 3% of men will be receiving the lowest pension. Source: The Warsaw Voice
