An interview with a scientist

Interviewer: Good morning! Today we are talking to Mr. Simpson, a famous scientist. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Simpson. Mr. Simpson: Good morning! Interviewer: Can you tell me what you are working on right now? Mr. Simpson: Yes, of course. It's not a secret. My research team and I are working on a new medicine. We want to find a cure for cancer. Interviewer: It is amazing! It would change lives of millions of people. Will you succeed? Mr. Simpson: We can't be sure but the results are good and we are full of hope. Interviewer: How does your regular day look like? Mr. Simpson: Well, I spend most of my time at the laboratory. I start my day with a cup of hot coffee to wake up. Then I check the results from the previous day. I do research from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. After the research I have to write a report. In the evening I have meetings with other scientists. I often go to conferences. I read professional magazines before going to bed. Interviewer: Aren't you tired? Mr. Simpson: Not really. I love my job. It's my passion. I'm relaxed and happy when I'm at the laboratory. Interviewer: Do you go to conferences abroad? Mr. Simpson: Yes. We work with scientists from Japan. They often visit us and I also fly to Tokyo. Interviewer: Do you enjoy Japanese culture? Mr. Simpson: Yes. I speak Japanese and love Japanese music. But sushi is not for me. I don't like fish. Interviewer: What are you planning to do next? Mr. Simpson: I would like to get the Nobel Prize. I'm also thinking about moving to Japan. Interviewer: That sounds fascinating! Mr. Simpson: Yes. I am getting married to a beautiful Japanese woman. And I am planning to work at a Japanese institute. Interviewer: I am sure you will succeed. Mr. Simpson: Thank you.
