Pay Rise

Employee: Good Morning Mrs. Jonston. Employer: Good Morning James. Is there anything you would like to talk about? Employee: Yes. I have to ask you about something. Employer: Yes, go ahead. Employee: I would like to get a pay rise. Employer: You must be joking! Why should I give you a pay rise? Employee: Well, I have been working for this company for 5 years and I am good at my work. Employer: But you are often late! Employee: I am late because I spend nights working on presentations for this company. This job is more important for me than my family and friends. Employer: It doesn't mean you should get more money. Employee: But I organized an amazing conference last week. After the conference many new clients called us. Employer: That's true. Employee: And I prepared a new computer program. Now my team works much faster than other workers. Employer: OK. I will give you a rise but you have to come to work this weekend. Employee: But my son is getting married this weekend! Employer: That shouldn't be a problem. What did you say about family? Ah, 'Work is more important than family'. So see you on Saturday.
