Spring is a wonderful season around the world. What kind of words are related to spring? We wrote down the most popular. Maybe do you know some others? Write in the comments:)

to bloom - kwitnąć

When a flower blooms, it opens or is open, and when a plant or tree blooms it produces flowers.

e.g. These flowers will bloom all through the spring.

breeze - wietrzyk

A light and pleasant wind.

e.g. She let the gentle breeze cool her face.

bud - pączek

A small part of a plant, that develops into a flower or leaf.

e.g. It was springtime and the fruit trees were in bud.

bulb - cebulka

A round root of some plants from which the plant grows.

e.g. Tulip bulbs.

crocus - krokus

A small yellow, white, or purple spring flower.

e.g. Crocus are one of the brightest and earliest spring blooming flowers.

daffodil - żonkil

Ayellow, bell-shaped flower with a long stem that is commonly seen in the spring.

e.g. Daffodils, the flowers symbolizing friendship, are some of the most popular flowers exclusively due to their unmatched beauty.

Easter - Wielkanoc

A Christian religious holiday to celebrate Jesus Christ's return to life after he was killed.

e.g. I get two weeks off school at Easter.

foal - źrebię

A young horse.

e.g. A foal is an equine, particularly a horse, that is one year old or younger.

galoshes - kalosze

Waterproof shoes, usually made of rubber.

e.g. On rainy days usually I wear galoshes.

to hatch - wylęgać się

To (cause an egg to) break in order to allow a young animal to come out.

e.g. Hatching chicken eggs is an extremely rewarding experience, which requires good planning, dedication, flexibility and observation.

lamb - baranek

A young sheep, or the flesh of a young sheep eaten as meat.

e.g. A sheep is an adult animal over one year of age and a lamb is a young sheep.

To turn from something solid into something soft or liquid, or to cause something to do this.

e.g. The snow usually melts by mid March.

nest - gniazdo

A structure built by birds or insects to leave their eggs in to develop, and by some other animals to give birth or live in.

e.g. Cuckoos are famous for laying their eggs in the nests of other birds.

puddle - kałuża

A small pool of liquid on the ground, especially from rain.

e.g. There's nothing worse than ruining your shoes in a puddle.

raincoat - płaszcz przeciwdeszczowy

A coat that protects the wearer against rain.

e.g. A plastic raincoat.

snowdrop - przebiśnieg

A plant that produces small, white, bell-shaped flowers in the early spring.

e.g. You can plant snowdrops under deciduous trees without concern that shade will stunt their growth, since they bloom before the leaves come out.

sprout - kiełkować

To begin to grow.

e.g. It takes about three days for the seeds to sprout.

thaw - odwilż

to change from a solid, frozen state to a liquid or soft one, because of an increase in temperature.

e.g. It's beginning to thaw
